Event Overview

 Spring is a season of movement and growth — yet many people experience it as the opposite. Low energy. Heaviness. Foggy thinking. Resistance to change.


In Ayurveda, this is Kapha accumulation. And it’s not a personal failure, it’s seasonal physiology.


The Kapha Season Immersion is a 3-day Warrior Sanctuary signature experience designed to help you shift this energy through functional movement, yoga therapy principles, breathwork, and nervous system–aware sequencing.


Rather than pushing harder, you’ll learn how to work with the season by introducing the qualities Kapha needs most:
lightness, warmth, circulation, rhythm, and clarity.


What You’ll Learn & Experience

• Ayurvedic education and dosha discovery
• Kapha-specific breathwork for circulation and clarity
• Seasonal asana blending therapeutic, power, and functional movement
• Intelligent strength and mobility practices
• Meditation to lift heaviness and restore focus
• Practical frameworks for building a sustainable daily practice (Sadhana)


Yoga teachers will also learn how to teach seasonally, adapting sequencing, pacing, and intensity to support students safely and effectively throughout spring.

A Spring Reset for the Body, Breath & Nervous System

Ayurveda describes Kapha season as a time of stillness, nourishment, and restoration.
Modern science echoes this: our nervous systems slow, our need for warmth and connection increases.


Movement and breath practices that warm, mobilize, and enliven circulation help melt stagnation and restore inner fire.

Each workshop is 3 hours


 

FRIDAY | April 17th | 4:00–7:00 PM (3 Hours)

Foundation, Seasonal Framework & Embodied Movement

Purpose:
Set the container, understand Kapha season, identify individual constitution, and begin embodying the seasonal shift through functional movement, yoga therapy principles, and nervous-system-aware sequencing.

  1. Opening + Centering Practice + Immersion Overview — 10 min
    Gentle grounding practice to arrive in the body.
    Introduce the seasonal lens, nervous system focus, and why Kapha season requires movement that creates circulation without overwhelm.
     
  2. Dosha Test + Individual Reflection — 20 min
    Participants complete a dosha assessment and reflect on how Kapha shows up personally (energy, motivation, joints, digestion, mood).
     
  3. Ayurvedic Overview: Doshas, Gunas & Seasonal Shifts — 20 min
    • Kapha qualities (heavy, slow, stable, cool, damp)
    • How these qualities accumulate in spring
    • Why stagnation is physiological, not a lack of discipline
    • The relationship between Kapha, fascia, lymph, and joint stiffness
     
  4. A Seasonal Approach to Practice + Teaching — 20 min
    How seasonal physiology changes what the body needs from movement:
    • Why static holds and passive stretching can increase Kapha
    • Why rhythm, load, and mobility are medicine in spring
    • How to adapt yoga practices seasonally for sustainability
     
  5. Embodiment Practice: Kapha Reset Flow — 40 min
    A guided movement practice blending:
    • functional mobility
    • joint-centered strength
    • rhythmic transitions
    • breath-led pacing
     

Focus on:
• warming the tissues
• improving circulation and lymphatic flow
• gently stimulating the nervous system without pushing

  1. Introduction to Power Yoga (Heating + Mobile Approach) — 20 min
    Reframing power yoga as:
    • intelligent sequencing
    • purposeful load and repetition
    • nervous-system-aware intensity
     

Discussion of how to use power elements seasonally instead of habitually.

  1. How to Integrate Functional Movement into Yoga — 20 min
    Practical framework for teachers and practitioners:
    • hinge, squat, lunge, rotate, carry
    • why multi-plane movement matters for Kapha
    • how load and resistance wake up dormant tissue
    • adapting functional strength for different bodies and levels
     

This bridges yoga therapy, functional training, and seasonal sequencing.

  1. Embodiment Practice: Integrative Flow + Nervous System Downshift — 30 min
    Movement transitions into slower pacing, longer exhalations, and grounding shapes.
    Participants experience how to stimulate Kapha without dysregulating the nervous system.
     

SATURDAY | April 18th | 12:00–3:00 PM (3 Hours)

Breath, Sadhana, Therapeutic Asana & Kapha Meditation

Purpose:
Understand why Kapha-balancing breath and movement work together, and learn how to build a sustainable daily practice that creates momentum.

  1. Centering Practice — 10 min
    Gentle movement and breath to bring awareness into the ribs, spine, and pelvis.
     
  2. Integration Check-In + Q&A — 15 min
    Processing insights from Friday.
     
  3. Kapha Season Breathwork Education — 15 min
    • seasonal changes in breathing mechanics
    • Kapha and reduced respiratory expansion
    • intercostal breathing for circulation and clarity
    • why we follow stimulation with regulation
     
  4. Breath Practice: Intercostal → Alternate Nostril — 10 min
    Direct experience of activating, then balancing, the nervous system.
     
  5. How to Build Kapha-Balancing Asana — 60 min
    This is where functional movement, yoga therapy, and power yoga merge.
     

Includes:
• sequencing for spring energy
• functional strength embedded in asana
• joint prep + mobility strategies
• load and repetition options
• breath-to-movement integration
• how to design a daily Sadhana that creates momentum without burnout

Participants learn how to build these practices, not just follow them.

  1. Introduction to Meditation — 10 min
    Why Kapha benefits from clarity-based, uplifting meditation styles.
     
  2. Kapha-Specific Meditation — 10 min
    Understanding the intention behind the practice.
     
  3. Loving Kindness (Metta) Meditation — 25 min
    A heart-opening, lightening practice to counter Kapha heaviness.
     
  4. Q&A + Open Discussion — 15 min
     

SUNDAY | April 19th | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM (3 Hours)

Teaching Methodology, Practice Teaching & Integration

Purpose:
Integrate the work into something usable — for teaching, personal practice, and daily life.

  1. Teaching Methodology + Practice Teaching — 2 hours
    Small groups explore teaching from a seasonal, functional, and therapeutic lens.
     

Includes:
• cueing and pacing for Kapha bodies
• sequencing choices: therapeutic, power, functional
• integrating breath safely
• choosing intensity intelligently
• teaching segments to one another
• supportive, constructive feedback

  1. Integration Circle + Q&A — 30 min
    Reflection on how this work applies to personal health and teaching.
     
  2. Closing + Guided Savasana — 30 min
    A grounding, regulating close to seal the work into the nervous system.
